You have packed up your belongings and moved to the quaint town of Bookstonbury. The recent closing of the town's bookshop has left a void within the community and you're here to fill it. Sell books to Bookstonians, make friends with them, and uncover the mysteries of Bookstonbury while you're at it.

Progress

Straight up (gay up, lololol), I've bought this game five days ago and already have 9.8 hours in it! That's a LOT for me. I keep wanting to play it. Even if I'd just closed it because I got bored, I want to re-open it immediately. I've already adopted the dog (and named him Bailey), helped Harper and her friends get shovels for their sandcastle, and helped get the word out about Klaus' band. I've also given nightmares to a buch of children with my recommendations... They asked for horror. It's not my fault. Currently, Fern and I are investigating the murder of the Supermarché mascot which, I'm hoping, will lead to a beautiful romance.

As is obvious, my favourite character is Fern. I think they're adorable. Idk if this game has a romance aspect, but if it does - it's Fern for me. My least favourite character is Tilde... I'm sorry. I find her annoying, especially since she, very obviously, looks down on me and my bookshop. I adore how the game uses real books! I've gotten a few reading recommendations from it already; Inkheart by Cornelia Funke, Feminist, Queer, Crip by Alison Kafer, and Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett. I can't wait to dive into them!

Cursed recommendations

Merlin Sheldrake (what a great name) lets us in on the secrets of the fungi, the coolest lifeform on Earth.'.
So... Harper wanted a niche fact book. I later got to know she's a verxy curious kid, so her ask is not unusual. However, the only niche topic I had a book on was mushrooms. The full title of it; Entangled Life: How Fungi Make Our Worlds, Change Our Minds & Shape Our Futures, along with the summary, basically made it seem like she was gonna get into shrooms if I gave the book to her.
'Entangled Life' has been recommended. The text in Harper's speech bubble reads: 'Woohoo! Entangled Life? Interesting! I can't wait to learn more!' The tooltip above it says: 'A perfect recommendation!'.
I gave Harper the book about mushrooms and she apparently loved it. Idk if I've sent her down a dark path or not, but if I have it wouldn't be the last time I would go to traumatise a kid in this game.

Sooooo... They want VIOLENCE in their children's literature book? I know there is violance in kids' books but they also specifically ask for a horror kids' book and say that, while the violance is not needed, they would appreciate if it was there. My guy needs a therapist. I love this game.

As the description implies, this cannonball could still be fired. And I believe it was. By me. When I was first at the Castle Ruins there was a cannon which I clicked on. It proceeded to fire a cannonball off-screen. After I did that, the cannonball suddenly appeared on top of a trash can Waterfront Square, which is right below the cliff where the cannon was perched.
